Purpose

Learning about the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in a collaborative, interactive and engaging way

Take on the roles of policy makers, business leaders and community organizers working towards a more sustainable future, together

This demanding and engaging collaborative strategy game presents players with a number of different problems, from air pollution to rural healthcare access, and ask them to decide on the best solutions together. As players take on different roles, each with access to unique solutions, they have to balance their efforts towards solving immediate problems with long-term impact and sustainability.

Each problem players face relates to different Sustainable Development Goals, and as play progresses, players watch the world change in front of them, as their interventions move the world closer to some of those goals – and sometimes, further from others as well.

The game is designed as an interactive and collaborative teaching tool to be used in classrooms, and invariably generates discussion, as players see the impacts of their decisions.

Apart from being an exciting, hands-on way to learn about the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and about the many real solutions different sectors offer for reaching those goals, it also teaches players the importance of both short-term and long-term solutions, and about the necessity of collaboration and coalition-building.
